Seasonal Produce Project

After becoming involved with a food cooperative in Tallahassee, I created handmade informational brochures to address produce seasonality. To accompany the brochure is a brussel sprout flyer, intended to be handed out to remind people when it's in season. The poster was sold in the Bread and Roses as a way to raise funds for the cooperative. The large stuffed vegetables with a powerful toxin in the design are also reminders of the growth hormones in the produce we eat.

Each page was screenprinted using transparent medium and water soluable pastels. The amount of color varied and each book has a unique print.

Flyers describing the details of the brussel sprout were intended to be handed out to anyone as a friendly informational reminder.

The complementary oversized vegetables have common pesticides and chemical names in the food that we eat integrated into the design, to remind people what they are ingesting.
